I write a series of fictional blog posts as various personae blogging about social justice in the universes next door. These posts are all tagged #au social justice series, and each additionally subtagged with an identifier for the setting it takes place in. Generally, assume that in-universe for each setting that the posts are being published on a platform that is as similar to Tumblr as the world allows, and that there is an underlying blog maintained by each character, which is not mine and contains other posts about more or less related content depending on the persona. The views of my personae do not necessarily reflect my own views, either in analogous real-world situations or in hypotheticals including AU elements.
You are welcome and encouraged to send asks addressed to these characters. Make it clear who you want to talk to; please only address personae who are already included in the series. I will answer publicly in character. (Depending on who you talk to and what you say, the characters may not be very nice to you, but I will try to tweak things so that they choose to publish and respond to your ask even if they are tempted to just ignore you, as long as this isn’t stunningly out of character.)
I do use asks to shape the settings, so you can make things up a little, but if you go too far from what I had in mind or have previously implied within a setting, I may not be able to incorporate it - this has only happened a couple of times, and is less likely if you phrase your ask in such a way that the persona can just “correct your misinformation”. You can send asks anonymously or with your normal blog; in either case I will only assume that the asks are “from the same person” if you tell me so. You can make up a screen name for yourself and insert it in brackets at the beginning of the ask if you want to maintain a particularly clear continuous identity. You can also interact with the personae by reblogging them and adding comments; they may reblog back and include rejoinders (but this is less likely than getting an ask answered).
You are welcome to do your own AUSJ-format posts and use the same “au social justice” tag that I do on your own blog. You can also tag me if you want to be sure I’ll see them.
I have been known to take requests for AUSJs to do.
